Scooters-4-Hooters 2014

Shout out to Sean Patrick Mayfield for this amazing artwork!

Saturday, October 18 @ 2PM
We're super stoked for this year's Scooters-4-Hooters!  Here's the plan:
  • Meet at RevMoto @ 2PM
  • Enjoy a gentle ride through Sonoma County
  • Return to RevMoto for one helluva after party
This year, in conjunction with Russian River Brewery's All Hopped Up for a Cure, we're hoping to raise a ton of funds for Sutter Breast Care Center who provide free treatment for the underserved women of Sonoma County.  All proceeds stay in our own community--and you can help make these services possible by joining us and scooting on.  The entrance fee for this ride is the purchase of one or more Vespa Primavera 150 raffle tickets.  That's right, you can win a Primavera 150* too!

But, more about the after party:
  • Dance and party to Central Station, Sonoma County's best band (so says me)
  • Sip a little beer from Russian River Brewery
  • Enjoy some pizza
  • Win a ton of raffle prizes, donated by our generous sponsors:
Bistro 29 --Vespa -- Jacksons Bar & Oven
Fulmer Helmets -- Studio C -- Timothy Patrick Jewelers
Wine Country Day Spa -- Sazon
Pure Skin -- Dainese -- Rosso Rosticceria
Mombo's -- Haute Couture -- Spinster Sisters
Revolution Moto & Many More

*Vespa Primavera 150 drawing will be on October 30th

Feeling blue?

This will make you feel pink, green, and yellow.  With glee.  This is Hubie Brown (the dog), RevMoto's current scooter shop mascot.  Hubie started riding a Vespa the very day he came to California--and at 6-months and over 50 pounds, he's still digging it.  Although I'm pretty sure if Hubie has one more treat (or if I has one more donut), we're gonna need a bigger scooter.  Piaggio BV350?

Praise the lord and pass the mozzerella...

Well...Logan didn't exactly make this last ride but we managed to pull it off.  We had a super sweet group of scooterists show up--so big thanks to all yous guys for coming out!  Please let us know if you'd like to have another ride soon and we'll schedule it.  This time, we'll kidnap Logan the night before, duct tape him to the seat of his Vespa, and drug him with Lemonheads.  Another shout out to Figone's Olive Oil who tolerated our rowdy crew and in turn silenced us with freshly made mozzerella cheese.

Tony Soprano would be so happy

That giant truck of Vespa scooters that Tony Soprano was yelling about was finally delivered. Our new fleet of Vespa Sprints arrived today and Hubie Brown has already staked his claim on the blue 150.  Upgrades to the Sprint 150s include 12" custom alloy wheels, ABS brakes, the new 3-Valve engine, a soft closing power seat, and loads of style.

We've got a demo all set up and ready to ride when you're ready.  Hubie Brown hopes it's really soon.

Missing Logan? Here's the Cure...

Luckily, we get to see Logan every couple weeks or so, but we know how much you guys miss him too.  And we've been hearing that y'all are missing our group rides as well.  I know, we do too.  But today, I'm happy to announce that Logan has kindly offered to lead a group ride on Saturday, June 14th.  We're still working on the details, but for now all you need to know is this:

DATE:    Saturday, June 14th
TIME:     10:30 AM
ROUTE:  TBD
RSVP:     revolutionmoto@yahoo.com

Due to the overwhelming popularity of Logan, and the group rides, we will have to limit this one to the first 20 riders.  So…check your calendar and send us an email if you'd like to join.

Meet Hubie Brown!

This is Hubie Brown, the dog.  Not to be confused with Hubie Brown, the former basketball coach and now ESPN commentator.  Hubie Brown (the dog) came to us from Ypsilanti, Michigan on Valentine's Day this year.  Some of his favorite activities include, eating, sleeping, stealing socks, goosing random women in Lowe's Home Improvement, and yes, even riding on scooters.

Hubie Brown spends most of his days at RevMoto and is currently in training at the Sonoma County Humane Society to become a therapy dog.  If you come into RevMoto during the week, be prepared for a (sometimes too) friendly greeting and a super cuddly hug.

Directly behind Hubie is the new Vespa Primavera 150 which is his current ride of choice.  He can't decide which color he should get, what do you think?

Nice ride. You know Sue?

If you dare to ride a Vespa within 10 miles of the Napa County line, and should encounter a stranger, you'll hear two things;

1.  Nice ride
2.  You know Sue?

Everybody knows Suellen Darblay.  Back when my man and I opened the doors to our first scooter shop location on D street, Sue was right there on her blue and green two-tone Vespa ET4--supporting our shop and bringing in her pals.  If I had time, I'd hunt down one of the many beautiful photos of her on that steed.  Sadly, time is a short commodity these days, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

This girl, our Sue, is the sweetest, kindest, most charming little Vespa rider you'll ever find.  But everybody already knows that.  What you don't know about this girl, our Sue, is that on Saturday, May 31, she'll begin riding from ALASKA to NEW ORLEANS for the 2014 Scooter Cannonball Run.  That's a whopping 3,650 miles.  Sue's scooter of choice for this trek is a Vespa GTS 250.  And we're sponsoring and supporting her every step of the way.  If you'd like to follow along, go here:

FollowRide - Sue

Now, when you ride your scooter over to Napa, you'll hear three things;

1.  Nice ride
2.  You know Sue?
3.  Did you hear that she rode her Vespa all the way from Alaska to New Orleans?

Big thanks to Paul K at Tucker Rocky for the First Gear jacket and heated gear.  Also a thanks to ARC Copy for the sweet custom vinyl.

And to Sue, the last time we sponsored a rider for Cannonball, he won.  No pressure, though.

We love you.  Give'em hell!

What does $1.89 a day get you?

The answer is not a lot.  But just for your information, here are a few things:
  • 97% of a cup of coffee from Starbucks
  • Almost 2 hours of parking in downtown Santa Rosa
  • A two-minute foot massage
  • A half-gallon of gasoline (but none of that fancy stuff, just the regular)
  • 3/4 of a pastry from Village Bakery
  • A 50cc Genuine Buddy Limited Edition Lemonhead scooter

Wait, what?  Yep.  A whole scooter.  Granted, there's some fine print, but still.  Here's how it all breaks down:

BASE PRICE (ON SALE):    $1500.00 (Regularly $2199)
FEES:                                :       399.00 Set up
                                                  140.00  DMV registration fee
                                                    45.00  Document fee
166.16 Sales tax (based on Santa Rosa tax rate)

TOTAL:                                  $2250.16

And with special financing through Sheffield, at 6-months, no interest, deferred payment for 48 months (12.95%), it comes out to $56.78 a month, or roughly $1.89 a day.  Bam!  Take that Mr. Gargoyle* (the math teacher who gave me a D+).

But wait, there's more.  Sheffield also has a financing option of 2.9% for 36 months--making the monthly payment around $65.35.  All of this, of course, is based on approved credit, your desire for a scooter, and your ability to be a nice person when you come into the shop.

The bad news?  C'mon, you knew there was a catch, right?  We've only got one.  Vin:  1344.

*Mr. Gargoyle is not actually his real name.  He just looked like one.

Newly Single Scooter Seeks Soulmate (say that five times fast)

If there was a Match.com for scooters, I'd be the match of the month.  I'm solid, reliable, and a steal for just $2,500.  Here are a few other things about me:

--Well loved and serviced regularly since 2009
--Not too keen on long walks on the beach but I love a drive out to the country
--I've cruised a total 10,321 miles on beautiful Sonoma County backroads
--I come with a 30-day warranty from Revolution Moto
--I speak fluent Italian, but it's okay if you don't
--I've got a small windscreen and a rear chrome rack
--No baggage or crazy exes
--A few scratches, but that just adds character, right?
--I'm a svelte 150cc

Interested?  Come and see me at Revolution Moto, located at 518 College Avenue.  Questions?  Call me; 707-523-2371.  Feel like writing?  RevolutionMoto@yahoo.com

Oh, and here are a few more of my glamor shots.
